    Dale Morris

Fantasy Profile: The glove is as he always has been, a pure stopper. In 2011, Morris will once again be one of the first picked for the WB and one of the last picked in fantasy football. Fully priced and with a body showing very early signs of wear and tear, Morris is unlikely to be on anyone's wish list this summer.

FFC Verdict: He may score better than Prestigiacomo but that's no reason to pick him. Move along, nothing to see here.

THE Western Bulldogs are facing life without their most reliable defender, Dale Morris, until at least Round 6.

Morris is progressing well after suffering a serious broken leg in August last year, but his hopes of a Round 1 return are over.

The Bulldogs will be cautious given the nature of the injury and it is believed rounds 6 to 8 have been set as a realistic target

I wouldn't expect it to. The decision to lighten Lake this preseason was made already with the knowledge that Morris was struggling to recover from his broken leg. I don't believe Lake has the speed, nor the discipline to cover the players Morris would've lined up on.

In terms of replacement, there are a few options. Firstly, we may just substitute Hargrave for Morris given that he is of similar style and experience. However, he also has some concerns with playing as a lockdown type defender. It may be that we decide to use Picken in defence as a lockdown player. The final alternative is to not play a lockdown small/med defender at all. Geelong used Enright/Hunt as small/med defenders and neither are known for being a lockdown defender so it's possible McCartney will employ a similar system using perhaps Murphy/Gilbee/other in those roles.

Well it can't be a negative but he is coming from a long way back to get games in 2012. Realistically, I think Lake, Williams and Markovic are ahead of him for game time and they're the ones he needs to get past to play, if, as expected, he's a KPD at AFL level.

If we decide we want three of them playing each week, then if Williams or Markovic get injured, he'd become a chance to get games but I think that's his only real chance this year.

Western Bulldogs stalwart Dale Morris has been placed on the long-term injury list after suffering a set-back in his rehabilitation of a broken leg — but is hopeful of making a return later on in the season. The Whitten Oval favourite sustained a stress fracture to his right fibula in May and will require at least a further eight weeks of rehabilitation before he returns to football.

Rough trot for this bloke. Huge respect for how he goes about his footy, hopefully he comes back bigger and better from the rehab.

The Western Bulldogs are expected to be without premiership defender Dale Morris for around two months after the veteran suffered a spiral fracture in his leg in the dying seconds of Friday night's win over Collingwood
Horrible news for Morris and a huge loss for the Dogs. Probably means the HBF's like Murphy/Boyd/JJ spend a little more time down back and I'd expect to see us bringing in another mid or smaller fwd.

Such a bad result for the Dogs, vital structure player for the Dogs with his ability to take the best big or small forward depending on what they need.

Given it's Morris, I'm sure he can walk it off with a couple of weeks rest.

    At least I hope so
