I just swapped out Bailey Scott for Constable. Toss of the coin.

I’ve just swapped out Butters for Constable. Think the extra cash in the bank is more useful at this point.

Currently have Danger VC into Gawn. Might throw it on Grundy, if it’s wet that should mean more ruck contests right.

Re: Round 1 Teams & rookies info

Just because hindsight is wonderful, I threw together a side using some of the best performers from Rd 1. It's not the optimum team but rather a combination of players that most of us would have considered over the course of the pre-season.

    $93,000 in the bank.

    Score 2588 SC

I wonder whether the Rd 1 winner beats it...

Nic Newman and Rory Sloane the 2 I didn't consider. Yet I couldn't hit 2k.

I considered Sloane but didn't want to be too much of an Adelaide homer so I only took Matt Crouch in my mids.

I never really considered Boak, Nank or Sloane from that team, definitely the rest of them though. Not many were looking, but Ballard was in my team for a solid week or so - wish I had gone him over Ridley, he looked great.

Structure is interesting though, @Athomas was right for the first week. Start as few back rookies as possible, the points are in the mids.

Edit: I did a team like this also, but only stipulation was players I had considered. And made Macrae captain rather than Cogs - 2639 total points. Probably could have been more, threw it together in 5 minutes.

Most of the big premo scores were in the MIDs as well so it was definitely a case of G&R there.

For those with the Moore / Burgess combo, at least we can swing Moore back (and bring a more viable FWD rookie on eg Parker)

Not really, popular mid-priced guys like Rockliff, Sheed, Hopper and Worpel went huge. Quite a lot of top pricers didn't fire actually.
This post was more than likely SC based.
If in doubt, assume it was.

Was Hopper that popular? Worpel would have been a good one, I honestly didnt think he would go that large. Someone to keep an eye on for sure, could do a Zerrett from a couple years back.

One of the things I thought going into the season was that the get-ball type of mids would see a slight rise in scoring. Mainly due to their being more space in the centre bounces, allowing them to actually deliver inside 50 rather than being forced to handball due to immediate pressure. The top scoring mids so far have been Bont, Sloane, Cogs, Fyfe, Sheed, Rocky, Crouch, Macrae, Hopper, Neale and Cripps. Pretty much all of those guys fit the bill, will be interesting to see how the outside premos like Duncan, Gaff and the like fare this year.

I was probably confusing him with Taranto. Who also went big.

I wouldn't be too concerned about Ridley. Got a decent score in a team that got flogged.

Thanks for talking me out of him

You basically had to nail the backs but the premiums who fired were the most popular ones so that was relatively easy to do.
