Braydon Preuss will play in the VFL side, with Max Gawn to return to the AFL team after being rested against Richmond last week.

"He'll play VFL footy this week. We want to make sure he gets really good time in the ruck," Goodwin said of Preuss.

"We see Braydon as a developing player in our footy club and we want to maximise his time in the ruck."

Ok, seriously, why the hell did he go to Melbourne?
That comments just wreaks of 'we have no intention of playing him in the AFL this year'.
This post was more than likely SC based.
If in doubt, assume it was.

Strong levels of clarity at least. Gawn still the r1 decision with Preuss, hate the idea of a guy who doesn't do much else than ruck just loitering around but if he's not named just got to back Goodwin in as a coach, his track record is good at this point.

Greene to prove he's A+ level fit.

    Marshall role important.

It's funny that even with all those ins it feels like half the Hawks aren't playing

He is taking Alex Moran's backup Quarterback theory and applying it to the AFL with rucking.

    Re: JLT Series 2019

Ridley looked really good again. Has overtaken Moore as the premo "rookie" of choice down back, happy to roll the dice with him.

Atkins the super interesting one - I thought he looked really good but didnt have the DT score to back it up. 80 SC from 68% TOG is a really nice figure, backs up last weeks game. Cats had a few rookies fly under the radar last year that did well, Atkins might be that guy this year.

TKelly pushing hard for that third FWD premo spot. Issue is will there be enough points to go around at Geelong.

    Re: JLT Series 2019

Zerrett still has the potential to be a good sneaky POD pick this season. Very low TOG again, I'm assuming he's still working into the swing of things coming off the injury. Still a couple of weeks of conditioning for him to occur before round 1. Only in 7% of teams which will probably keep dropping with his two JLT scores.

Definitely still on my shortlist even if his pre-season hasn't been spectacular on paper.

Heppell had 21/35 more in only 6% more game time. His scoring in that game isn't overly impressive imo.

I'm not saying it was, it's quite underwhelming I agree. I'm saying it shows he's still a bit underdone but should be right to go by round 1 with another two weeks of full training.
