Re: 2018 AFL Free Agency/Draft/List Changes
Yeah, his manager has come out and said he's not that keen on Fremantle. Not sure if it's just that Fremantle won't have the resources to trade for him if they're after Hogan, if Fremantle aren't that interested (unlikely) or if he's being a bit unreasonable in only being willing to go to one of the two.

Lycett officially moves to Port on a 5 year deal, Eagles get end of round 1 compo.
Wow Eagles would be loving that!

GWS have said they're willing to entertain a deal, not sure what that looks like though. Currently Essendon have picks 9, 34, 65 and 83.

9 + Future 1st for Shiel + Future 2nd
Would be my best guess. GWS might want that deal without the future 2nd going back.

Re: 2018 AFL Free Agency/Draft/List Changes
Essendon didn't have a first round pick last year, so if they give away this years and next, they might be in a similar spot to Geelong where they will be trade restricted from trading away future first round picks.

It read to me like Tim's manager (and maybe Tim?) was not fond of him going to Freo at all, apparently some bad blood there.

Not sure we're exactly loving it, good compo for sure, but with Lobb going to Freo we aren't going to be looking very good in the ruck stocks next year.

Yeah, reading into it, seems like he doesn't like Lyon and perhaps even the football club as a whole. Has also had a role in some WCE events over the years. If I was a young WA player, not sure I'd want to sign with a manager that's going to limit my chances of playing in my home state by 50%.

Yeh exactly, i found the managers comments a bit staggering, as you say it would make some afl players really question taking him on as a manager i would think. Will be interesting to see what Geelong are willingly to take to get the trade through this year, as they have made it pretty clear he is walking out at the end of his contract regardless.

Re: 2018 AFL Free Agency/Draft/List Changes
Thanks Div.
Quite a bit of movement for two days of trade period (and free agency I guess)
Still lots to happen that we know of, as well as speculated players and I'm sure some surprises still.
Off top of my head: Neale, Lobb, Setterfield, Finlayson, Duryea, Tyson, Hogan, Preuss, Amon, Wingard, Townsend, Stengle, Lloyd, Lonie, Newman, Roughead, Adams.
Some of those might not move (Finlayson, Wingard, Lonie, Newman etc)
I'm sure there's heaps I am forgetting too

Re: 2018 AFL Free Agency/Draft/List Changes
Port have made a pick swap with Freo that appears to greatly favour Freo.
6 + Freo's 3rd Pick in 2019 for 11, 23, 30 and 49
For Freo, it gives them much needed picks in order to finalise the Neale, Lobb and potentially Hogan trades. Previously they had 6 and 81 which didn't really allow much negotiation room.
For Port, they move up higher in the order with 6 and 10 and may try and bundle something up for one of picks 2 or 3. Clearly Port want an early pick this year and there are a number of high end SA draftees that they could well be looking at. Lukosius and Rankine the obvious ones, with Rozee and Hately also potential top 10's, with Rozee a potential top 3 if GC partner him with Lukosuis (best friends).

Re: 2018 AFL Free Agency/Draft/List Changes
Some unofficial trade news from today.
D.Beams reported to want to go back to Collingwood. Brisbane denying it completely
Freo offering 11 and 2019 Rd 2 pick as their final offer for Hogan which Melbourne have flatly knocked back
Wingard has chosen Hawthorn as his preferred option next year (unconfirmed by player or club)
Dean Kent to St Kilda for pick 65 or 67, not yet finalised.

Don't you hate it when a player you absolutely can't stand gets traded to your club.
Mind you I did think Dew was the biggest cock going around, till he won us a gf
Also reports of Scully going to Hawthorn, not sure if he is still on a big contract but perhaps taking him might be to help with Giants salary issues.
