    Round 14

Pretty decent start to the weekend fantasy wise last night. Some popular guys in Yeo, Smith, Merrett, Gaff and even Hurley/Naita to an extent went well.

Anyone taking Yeo's 117 RDT as VC?

One of those super awkward scores, think at this stage I'll probably pass and trust Mitchell to go past that.

Yeah, with Mitchell as an option you would need a 120+ at least imo.

Not a chance, my line was 130 for VC.

Hurley's score could have been a disaster last night if it wasn't for a couple of 2 minute plays (+18 in last 2 mins of the 1st qtr), basically unsighted except for a couple times he demanded the ball to passed back inside to him and the player gave in.

Essendon looked heap better going fast and direct then that crappy chip around play, which isn't good for Hurley's fantasy.

We are a bipolar team this year. When the game plan works, it looks great. When it doesn't we look really crap. We just seem to match up well against some teams.

I think Essendon now back themselves on the contested side - they certainly won that battle last night - so they are happy to kick long to a contest, particularly one close to the boundary, knowing that they have the blokes to win the ball at the next stoppage. TBC's form is certainly helping on that front. It's just picking the moments to go with the ballistic run and carry, which they did to a tee in the first quarter last night. The tempo footy after that was also very good.

I've said it to a few people recently and I'm not sure if it the influence of watching the World Cup, but it just seems like AFL is looking more and more like the world game these days. Without having an offside rule, teams practically play to one in the way they set up forward attacks and turn defence into attack.

Loved watching McKenna and Saad take the game on with that run from defence, they get caught out at times but it seems to work more often than not. That chip kick McKenna tried was amazing, love to see that sort of stuff.

not Yeo but had Gaff with about the same score, no Mitchell so think I will just take Gaff, not many other options look good this week for me anyway.

Mitchell though should have a field day, 9 goal faves against a team who give up a ****ing stack of it.

Goodwin on T.McDonald: He’s gone for some precautionary scans. We’re confident he will be fine - it’s more just precautionary as we fly back tomorrow.
