To be fair, Austin should be more sustainable, playing as a defender in a team that is obviously tanking so all aboard. Probably struggle to get 30 this week of course.

Good news is that if he gets 30 you probably won't be counting it.

    For those with Howe...

Buckley on injuries: "Howie is likely. Reidy is more touch-and-go. We'll have a 26 named on (Thursday night), but that might not be an indication of who plays."
    Additionally for those considering Mihocek

Can Brody Mihocek + Ben Reid play in the same team? "Probably not. We play a 2-4 forward line more often than not. That's our preferred structure. But never say never."

    Re: Round 12 Trades

Hopefully Howe is back, my back line will be in disarray if he isnt!

Was having a look through all the Port and GC options yesterday to see if there was anyone I was missing. Rockliff, Westhoff, Gray and Boak are the ones that have been talked about the most. Probably says a bit that there are zero players from GC that are premiums on any line. Two names did jump out at me as smoky options though.

    Ben Ainsworth - 359k, FWD

Has been playing midfield the last few games and has scored well as a result - last four games have been 85, 98, 80 and 92. Issue is he is a 50 average player as a forward, but if you are looking for a cheap guy to cover your forwards during the byes and be a F7 then he could be good. Given the Suns badly need to develop midfield talent, I wouldnt be surprised to see him continue this role but its definitely a risk that he goes back forward.

    Touk Miller, 491k, MID

Another guy that has been basically a premo in the midfield but definitely not elsewhere. Has a 5 round average of 107, scores of 107, 89, 108, 127 and 101 in that time. Much more expensive a gamble than Ainsworth, I think long term you probably would want him as your M9 season cover, so the fact that he could revert to his old role is less of a concern, you just need him scoring well the next 3 weeks.

Interestingly enough for both these guys, there arent actually that many outs in the GC mids that I can see. Swallow has played every game this year, Hall is the obvious one having missed 3 games - but he played rounds 8, 9 and 11 which was right when both Ainsworth and Miller were getting mid time. There are some rotation guys out at the moment, Fiorini is 6-8 away, Rosa is 4 weeks away with a hamstring, MacPherson is 8-10 weeks away with his broken leg. Looking at the team sheet from this weekend the following guys played (who I would consider mids or would have rotations): Rischa, Hall, Weller, Ah Chee, Sexton, Holman, Martin and Bowes. Lyons is the only guy missing out of their mid group and he has only missed one game of the strong run both Miller and Ainsworth have had.

Probably not the trade targets most would go after, but given everyone seems to have spare trades this year, it could be worth using a couple just on some bye coverage. Something to consider at least.

Laird possibly out with a fractured hand this week. Doesn't sound too bad but he's listed as test.

Geez, only good part is them saying he needs to get through training on thursday so come thursday night, we'll know if he got through training and therefore whether or not he'll play.

Well if there's a team that likes to play players when they're not 100%, Adelaide's the team!

Also if there is a team that likes to lie and mislead on injuries, Adelaide's also the team so we'll probably know nothing.

Not sure we have much choice at this point.
This post was more than likely SC based.
If in doubt, assume it was.

Dusty out this week with a calf complaint.
Not sure how severe it is he's flying back to NZ today.

    Re: Round 12 Trades

He looks like he hasnt been moving well all year, wonder of they will give him next week off as well leading into the bye. Give him a chance to get some proper rest before the next finals tilt.

Either way, this is honestly great news. Not the fact that he injured, but this will give people who have full playing benches a bit of a boost compared to others. In some of my non-FFC leagues my opponents have guys on the bench ive never even heard of. And often in high ranking teams too. If Cogs misses this week as well, it will be proper midfield chaos.

Tim Smith would also have to be doubtful.
