Just reading Brodie Grundy is in doubt this weekend with shin soreness.

The 24-year-old started extremely well in Sunday's loss to Richmond at the MCG but saw his output diminish as his Tigers counterpart Toby Nankervis put in a stellar performance.

"I've had a bit of a shin problem over the last few weeks and it flared up on the weekend, halfway through the second," Grundy told Channel Seven on Monday.

    Re: Round 7 Trades

He was the 11th highest averaging SC mid last year, 14th on total points. Only 2.3 points per game behind Oliver in 6th though. It was basically Danger in one tier, Martin and Mitchell the next, Kelly and Gaz the next mini-tier and then a heap of ~110 guys. In 2016 he was 10th by average and 7th by total points. So he is right on the cusp of top 8 across those two seasons. Getting a guy like him for ~500k is a bargain, its just that you could be 5 points per game or so off the best guy in that slot.

Zerret in DT averaged slightly over 100 in the back half of last year after copping a tag. After taking out the the first round concussion, he's still only averaging 97.8 this year, so he's been around that hundred mark for around 17 straight games. Why is he still considered a top end premo?

Literally the one spot I can’t afford to have someone missing. Should’ve bloody well started with English.

There was talk of him being injured during the coverage but he seemed fine for the whole game. Obviously not.

I'm sure English will get rested this week as well given his poor game on the weekend.

Pretty solid points. That said, from rounds 14-23 (9 games) he had a 106 DT average.

For this year I feel like his 2 games post concussion don't really represent what he could do this year very well. In round 3 against the Dogs he only played 68% tog and since then he's gone 121, 109 and 121.

But yeah, he did decline in the back half of 2017 which is something I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it given he had a 117 avg for the season.

Seems like a risky pick. Coin toss as to whether he regains top end premo form. Strong parallels to Sloane's form once he'd copped a tag.

    Re: Round 7 Trades

I think I'm going to cull Holman and Christensen this week.

One goes down and one goes up, Duman the leading candidate to be my downgrade.

Very undecided on what to do with my upgrade. Danger and Crouch aren't quite ready, so maybe a FWD upgrade.

I still have three premium mid spots available so it makes sense to grab the value in Merrett. Upgrade season requires a balance of value premiums and grabbing the best of the best. It usually means you can finish your team weeks ahead of schedule which, ordinarily, more than compensates for the value picks.

I'm in the same position. Crouch and Danger seem like better options than Zerrett, although I could easily be wrong. Happy to sit on T. Kelly and then upgrade to the best uber premium come bye rounds.

    Re: Round 7 Trades

Narkee is in all likelihood going to be holding Kelly as well. But it means that he gets a Holman or Brayshaw type off the field for Zerrett which concussions aside is a clear win.
