    Re: Round 1

Can someone tell me about LDU? What sort of player is he? Is he likely to score well, or just ok? Trying to decide between him and Murphy at the moment.
Money saved could let me upgrade Petracca to Billings. Still somewhat tempted to go Robbie Gray tbh.
Could also go Parker to Tom Mitchell.

This post was more than likely SC based.
If in doubt, assume it was.

I can't see the logic in paying 750k for someone who isn't playing round 1, and is carrying an injury into the season.

    Re: Round 1

I saw a headline that Lachlan Fogarty was mentioned by Jelwood at captains day as the second Cats rookie that he expected to make an impact early in the season (Kelly the other). Seems like a lot of good things coming out of Geelong about him, hard to see him keeping his spot with Danger back soon though. And im guessing Esava is in for Stanley? Liked his tackling in the JLT games, not sure he scores enough to be worth selection though.

I'd make all your other decisions first, then if you have the money take LDU.

LDU is an inside mid mostly, who will have small stints forward. I would say very similar to Dow in terms of job security and role, potentially a little bit better scoring.

No, he's that guy I'd shocked if he was fantasy relevant. Would basically need Blitz and Smith to run into eachother and end up in the ruck to score relevantly. He's basically in the Majak Daw/Israel Folau mould. Super athletic big guy, can kick like a mule, but took up the game very late and while he works hard and throws his weight around (do like the way he presents at the ball carrier) he's basically going to be the last option for them.

On top of that his JS is really bad with Danger and Stanley to both come back in that play key forward roles. Ditto Henderson not too long after that who will probably change the structure.

Would think that Wylie Buzza last year is the most direct comparison I could think of though he has a more natural feel than big Sav.

UDL looks a great rookie option. Bigger bodied inside type whose role was really good in JLT. His scoring however was not which is the concern. He's that classic rookie where the role was much better than the scoring and given how he was rated in the draft and the side he's at, he should be among the top scoring rookies.

FWIW I've picked and started him in both formats.

This, if I had a 110 emergency score sitting there to be taken, I could do it but the AFL website has already put up the article suggesting that even next week is a "probably"

He was pretty incognito in the JLT. Strikes me as one of those guys they've given a specific role to and he's doing that specific role well.

    Re: Round 1

Take with a grain of salt, but looks like afl.com.au have gone up early with final teams for Giants/Dogs.

    They have:
    Giants
    Bench: Lobb, Deledio, Lloyd, Langdon
    EMG: Shipley, Bonar, Keeffe Simpson

    Dogs
    Bench: Honeychurch, Gowers, Williams, English
    EMG: Webb, Dickson, Daniel, Jong

Ok the GWS team looked realistic but the Dogs one seems way off so lets assume these are incorrect

They have just allocated the 1st 4 from the extended bench to 22 and the other 4 as emergency, it happens a lot.

Hmm that changes things a bit, English as a playing r3 and a r/f to boot. Tempting.

Yeah I think ill be doing the same. Its Keeffe or Murphy in the D8 spot and I dont like Murphys security at all. Given he wasnt announced as a debutant earlier in the week says he is an absolute fringe guy, only came in cause Lynch missed from illness. He might perform really well and lock it down, but Keeffe is a lot more useful in the likelihood they are both non-playing in a couple of rounds time.

Tyson bench is a bit surprising. Is it because he's underdone?
