Looked a lot better than MJ today, can't imagine him being a great scorer but 55-70 doesn't seem unreasonable in SC particularly and if the back rookie situation becomes dire he'll be a good option.
AP has been in my plan sides (I'll get a thread up one day). I think he is one of the safest "rookies" to pick.

likewise Oliver who Wogi was keen on

    Re: JLT Preseason series

Curtly Hampton has looks likely so far this preseason. Prominent today in the JLT and during the AFL x games. I thought about him last year, but perhaps this year he’s a more realistic possibility. Anyone else thinking about him?

Have really looked the like of T Boak during the pre season so far. Looks like he's moving around the ground a lot better than the past few season. Think he's going to be in for a really good season.

just a question for me weather or not going in with Heeney, Boak, Smith is going in too thin in the forwards

3 rookies or someone like Christensen at F4?

I don't think we will have 3 good scoring forward rookies.

I've looked at Boak over the last few days and scared off a bit due to SPP emergence as well as reading some articles saying he will play just as much forward as last year, likely more. SPP/Wines/Ebert all ahead in the mids, Rocky/Motlop/Gray/Wingard all rotating through there at times. Think Port will share the points around a lot (N29 mentioned this previously too)

    Re: JLT Preseason series

For anyone who didn't watch today's JLT games, I'll leave my thoughts/recap below. Crows/Dockers has been mostly talked about already so will be brief there.

    Crows/Dockers:

    MCrouch - Huge
Gibbs - Looked very good (as he has last 2 years.) I think his role was pretty much the same as when at Carlton.
Laird - Standard very good Laird.
Doedee - Seems pretty settled. Scored well, didn't do much in Q4. 70% TOG so I expect he might have had less game time in the 4th.
Dear - Played well enough. Not sure he plays Round 1 if Tex misses anyway though.

    Fyfe - Beast
Neale - Standard very good Neale
Mundy - Played forward most of the first 3/4's but got more mid time in the 4th.
Walters - Solid enough midfield role with stints forward. Matera/Balla basically had no mid time (expected) but does release Walters a bit.
Brayshaw - Very impressive. Freo were only missing Stephen Hill from the midfield (I think) so hopefully can get same amount of mid time in the real season.
Banfield - 39% TOG for 65DT/96SC. Doubt he gets any games early but one to watch.
Wilson - Was fine/important to Freo defence but not great fantasy scorer. I'd expect similar output to last year.

    Eagles/Power:

Gaff/Shuey/Redden - All racked it up big time. Hard to consider with the plethora of midfield options but points to be won with Mitchell/Priddis gone.
Yeo - Floated around, definitely wasn't just plonked in defence, even when Gov went down. Couldn't really notice any pre-season injury affects.
Lycett - Noticed Vardy more but they scored similar.
Ah Chee - Was up forward a lot, I actually think WCE can fill Priddis/Mitchell with Redden/Sheed rather than Ah Chee, can't see him getting too much mid time. Iced ankle at 3QT.
Ryan - Looked exciting, fantasy potential doesn't look great though. We might not have many forward rookie options however.
Venables - Had some nice speed and used ball well when he had it, but didn't get it enough. 74% TOG for 5 possesions. I think he was a little unlucky on occasion, but still can't see solid numbers based on this game.

Barry - Was very good, looked fit. Hard to not pick him if named round 1 based on scoring potential. Not sure on his job security. Played more of an outside role (similar to Polec?) so might be able to get games early.
    Boak/Dixon - Looked good.
Bonner - Didn't inspire me... 44DT/49SC including a goal too. Would need a big JLT2 to consider imo.
Gray - Pre-season so not sure how much to read into but only a couple of good things. Could get suspended, I have no real idea if he will. Gov missed the match, but it wasn't really a bump to the head. He did make contact to the head though. Would make any decisions on him super easy at least!

    Re: JLT Preseason series

    CARLTON'S JLT 1 TEAM:
Backs: 20. Lachie Plowman 14. Liam Jones 22. Caleb Marchbank
Half-backs: 6. Kade Simpson 23. Jacob Weitering 38. Ciaran Byrne
Centreline: 18. Aaron Mullett 9. Patrick Cripps 39. Dale Thomas
Half-forwards: 28. David Cuningham 30. Charlie Curnow 21. Jarrod Garlett
Forwards 46. Matthew Wright 10. Harry McKay 41. Levi Casboult
Followers: 8. Matthew Kreuzer 3. Marc Murphy (C) 2. Paddy Dow
Interchange: 13. Jed Lamb 7. Matthew Kennedy 4. Lochie O'Brien
    1. Jack Silvagni 5. Sam Petrevski-Seton 33. Jarrod Pickett
    35. Ed Curnow 25. Zac Fisher

Emergencies: 27. Matthew Lobbe 31. Tom Williamson 29. Cameron Polson
    24. Cam O'Shea

Named a fairly strong JLT1 team (like most teams).

Good to see Mullett and Garlett both fit enough for this match. Lang not fit enough still.

Only thing that surprised me was Williamson emergency. It could be that he was given the rebounder role in our intra and now it's the turn of someone like Byrne or Mullett. O'Shea emergency so he's not in the 26 either (to be expected though.)

Think I've bolded all fantasy relevant players but could make a case for Mullett, Byrne or SPS.

EDIT: Turns out Williamson has a sore back, not sure why they named him EMG then. Our 22 round 1 will almost certainly come from these 26 + Williamson + Lang. Looks like Macreadie won't be in early.

I missed the first half, watched the 2nd and then highlights of the 1st. I might still get back to first half at some point.

Cripps starred... sat out a lot of Q4. Savage was very good, sat out most of Q4 too.
Kreuzer just like 2017, no signs of slowing up.

Dow will play Round 1 yep... SPS was a late out, so I am not sure how that affects any potential mid time. Would've thought SPS gets more mid time than Dow, and Dow showed he could get a couple of goals up forward. I'd still be pretty keen on Dow though, but I would have Brayshaw ahead on role and while I think Dow is better than LDU, I would say LDU will get more midfield time, so he's by no means a lock. (I have all 3 currently.)

Simpson was good without being spectacular... your boy Byrne had 17 possessions at 100% DE. I still think Simmo will get more of the rebound than others though.

I like Coffield and think he has more of a potential role than Clark, but Clark was definitely better yesterday.

Just on Coffield, he got a lot of his points when Geary was off the ground and his SC ratio was very poor considering the overall DT:SC ratio in the game. Would want to watch him again and see if he can rectify those two points before picking him.

3/6 of the lights s aren't working at the stadium... might be called off at half time if they can't get the lights working lol

Shaw 36DT / 48SC in Q1.... everything worked well for him haha.... Took one of the three kick ins, Finlayson the other two.

    Finlayson 17DT / 31SC, Stephenson 23DT / 28SC.

Pendles very quiet, up forward, 93% TOG.

    Kelly 28DT / 32SC
    Coniglio 38DT / 38SC

The Heath Shaw temptation begins. Makes sense he sees a lot more of the ball with two primary rebounders from 2017 out of the picture. Can he be trusted though...
