Yep he did. Sorry wasn't clear, I could cope with two of nank/Greene/Parfitt out but all three forces a trade. Was hoping to get Hibberd and EVW this week. Will have to look at either Heeney or Parsons for Parfitt

Think we'll know in tomorrow's injury report but have to assume 3+ week hammy.

    Re: Round 7 Trades

I am obviously missing something on Nank, I have zero idea why anyone would even remotely be thinking of trading him at all. He's out one week for a suspension and whether you have him as a ruck or a forward he's a flat out premium right now (3rd best ruck, 4th best forward), would you be dumping Pendles this week if he was suspended for one week because he's the ruck/forward equivalent on rankings. He had one down game against a very decent ruckman but his role is perfect and his scoring has been similarly perfect so far.

I mean honestly, he's a keeper as a forward or a ruck, being able to play both is even more powerful.

On Heeney by far the biggest worry is how god awful the side is. We can't kick and we can't win contested football, as a mostly outside receiver that's a big concern for him as his supply is likely to be all over the shop.

Personally given his price is barely set to change this week I'd be giving him another week or two to showcase unless your hand is forced (someone with the Nank/Parfitt/Greene combo for instance chasing any kind of donut cover), Swans are just a hot mess and even the proven guns are all well outside keeper range right now (JPK, Hanners, Parker and Franklin). Heeney benefits from being a forward though so that's a positive.

Lloyd is the Swan I'd be getting if you haven't already, we're rubbish and he's the blatant go to guy on the rebound, especially given Mills has copped a tag or close to it almost every week so far and the league has caught on that Mills is our only real source of attack right now, Lloyd just takes a safe sideways kick to avoid turning it over, which makes him one of our best ball users... but he has no hurt factor and as a result of his kicking patterns the ball often comes back to him for another kick after he hits the Grundy/Marsh/Melican/Smith options of turn sideways to kick safe always group... (This is particularly DT oriented but he's good in SC also).

Reckon I'll cash Hampton and Parfitt this week barring any curveballs. Probably take Parsons if he comes straight back in, or Black if he doesn't, and leaning towards Melican.

Would love thoughts on EVW and McNiece from anyone who has seen them play as I haven't and both are also obvious options down back for the downgrade.

    Re: Round 7 Trades

    Agreed Nank stays.

For those asking Parsons vs Black - got to be Parsons for me. He looked very good In his first two games.

For those considering Henney it's worth checking the byes, shares it with Steele Dahl Riewoldt franklin and McRae.

That's not includin prob one ruck down if you have Stef Martin as well.

I'm going to start building a warchest given I'm not impressed with the one game players. Next week could go early on Myers - but wouldn't be suggesting to do it this week with Parsons available.

Try to grab the rookies while they are here because they are thinning out.

    Re: Round 7 Trades

Wogi what do you make of Melicans job security? He looked pretty impressive in the half I saw him, very composed for a 2nd gamer.

Cant comment on McNeice, just didnt see enough of him. EVW was impressive in his 1st game, didnt see a whole lot of his second. He passes the eye test though, his field kicking is quite good and has penetration on it. The big thing for me is EVW has the R12 bye, something not many of the noteworthy defenders have this year.

GEELONG will be without first-year player Brandan Parfitt for 8-10 weeks after scans confirmed he suffered a high-grade hamstring strain against Collingwood on Sunday.

Unlucky kid, looked serious when he did it. Does open a spot for Parsons though.

    Re: Round 7 Trades

Does anyone have breakevens handy in RDT for JOM, Parfitt, Butler, Houston? May be worth hanging on to Parfitt if one of the other guys is facing a high BE which they won't get.

@Elvs1 @Hodges - thoughts on JOM & Roughy in SC? Think it is time for me to bite the bullet & dump them both, very underwhelming scores so far this season

    Re: Round 7 Trades

As long as we have a full midfield, Parfitt being out probably isn't too bad a blow. His BE is creeping up, so this way we don't have to cut him straight away.
This post was more than likely SC based.
If in doubt, assume it was.
