    Round 6 Trades

WHE and Roughy probably in the firing line for myself, maybe one up and one down although that obviously means starting a rookie I wasn't previously doing although they're not really scoring any better than a rookie.

Also wouldn't mind grabbing Martin the following week when he gets that 50-60 score out of his system but not sure how I'm going to find the cash to do that really.

    Re: Round 6 Trades

I'll look at SPS out for Fisher/Balic. Hopefully just the single trade, still trying not to spend so many of them

DT will have more decisions to make with Josh Smith, Swallow and WHE. Likely Smith down, Swallow WHE up.

Looking at the trade I was last week for SC that is Hannan > Balic.

Then next week look at Pickett > Parsons and Otten > Hibberd depending on what type of role Otten gets when Jenkins returns.

Looking at WHE and Swallow out for Balic and Selwood. Selwood is on fire to start the year but isnt crazy expensive. Has the best bye round.

Wilbur's BE is about 70 now. He's basically been scoring around that for 3 weeks, so he's pretty much peaked.
Liking the look of Aaron Black's game on the weekend, but he's only played 1 game. Are people jumping on this week? Or giving Wilbur another week to possibly gain a couple k?
Not loving his role, with Varcoe and Wells in the team.
This post was more than likely SC based.
If in doubt, assume it was.

Looking at the exact same trade, other trade in options are Fisher and Macrae.
Any combo of those 2 rookies and premiums.

Black came into the Geelong team because Parsons was out suspended. Given how well he performed, he's likely to get more games but I don't know how secure his place is in general. Parsons is still out this week.

    Re: Round 6 Trades

I'm having second thoughts on Selwood. With rookies being so universally shit, I've been looking at my team after the Selwood upgrade and I'm seeing very few rookies that are worth downgrading. Guys like Parfitt/Butler are only mid 250s, and the guys that look like they are done (SPP and SPS) are around the same. Couple that with the fact that next weeks downgrade options of EVW and Black are relatively expensive, has me thinking value is the most important thing this season.

So with Selwood, I think he is the third most expensive midfielder currently at 622. His average is a little misleading as before this weekend he was going at 115 over his 4, so not crazy numbers. The alternative options on the horizon are Dusty and Pendles, both around the 580k mark and both with BEs around 190. And both with back to back average scores, so they should be super cheap in a couple weeks.

Looking at teams that have been posted up the last couple rounds, most people have 2 midfield slots left. I think I might hold off for those two rather than pay for Selwood, saved cash is too important this year.

Myers played his first game back in the VFL on the weekend. Had 33d (25 eff), 12 hb receives, 8 marks (all uncontested), 7 tackles, 4FA, kicked 1.1 and was named BOG. Will be interesting to see if he's brought straight into the team or has to play another match or two at VFL level first. More important in LOL as you often have to trade them in before they play their first game, especially for him at his inflated rookie price there.

Listed at $197k LOL, $136.4k RDT, $133.7k SC

Expect us to rotate this week as well with a 5 day break. I'd be pretty surprised if McGrath plays, possibly one or two others, so expect Myers to probably play (and hold his spot once the others come in)
    Never bet against Tom Rockliff

    Re: Round 6 Trades

For those who watched the Geelong game. Did Black playing allow for Taylor to go down back?

If that's what he allows I can see Black being an important structural piece to allow Geelong's best defender to actually play in defence.

I wouldn't go early on him though.

Taylor started fwd and moved back during the game, so it's difficult to tell what his role next week will be.

Then I think it is worth waiting a week then in any case.

Lyon: Harley Balic will be available, Danyle Pearce, Nick Suban, those sort of guys are in line to replace Stephen Hill #foreverfreo

    Re: Round 6 Trades

Bit of luck and Balic should come straight back in for Hill then. Hopefully winning three on the trott with the youth policy means leaving out plodders like Pearce, Suban and Sutcliffe.
