Suns will go in unchanged from last week, which means Swallow is named.

Eade said he was pleased with the Suns' short training session on Thursday, in which David Swallow proved he had overcome a corked quad by running at full pace.

    Re: Round 4 2017

This round has thrown up a crazy amount of loophole opportunities in SC, probably the most for any round since I've been playing the game.

My original plan before teams dropped was to trade Hibberd to Newman but with JOM out and being borderline in my team anyway, I traded JOM to Newman and swung Hibbo to the MIDs. Started Hampton and Otten and stuck the E on Newman, giving me a look at his score v Parfitt.

My "bottom" mids were then SPP, Miles M/F, Barrett, Parfitt M/F and Hibberd M/B.

With Newman's 80, I'll swing Hibbo back and move Adams to the MIDs.

Next loophole is SPP(M) and Houston(F) both Emerg. Miles is the swingman (with Steele) to take the best score. If they both fire, I stick Barrett on as well.

And finally the VC loophole using Bont (welcome aboard the BJT Express / thanks for your time Max). Captain Strnadica steps up if required. Could also VC Dusty and utilise Miles for C duties. I've kicked myself for not VCing him twice already. I probably should do it now. Only concern is a possible tag (Robbo) although Dusty is starting to look pretty unstoppable.

This could all come horribly unstuck if Miles is a late in, particularly once Steele has played but Parfitt playing at the same time as Miles in the last game of the round helps.

You gotta love a good loophole or four.

EDIT - This post is for you @Athomas

    Re: Round 4 2017

Since I tipped Sydney last night, actually decided to watch them closely for a change and I can see why wogitalia gets so annoyed

Their delivery inside forward 50 is boring and predictable. Lot of it is just booting it in to one key forward who isn't known to be a great contested mark in Franklin, the rest of the guys aren't really a factor at all. The midfield in general just butcher the ball, the delivery rarely is to the advantage of their forwards so teams just send it out as quick as it comes in.

Some dumb movement off HB as well, plenty of really stupid turn overs that shouldn't have happened in the first place, Eagles punishing them with about every one of those silly turnovers.

Really need more guys like Newman in the team who can actually kick the ball, a lot of his kicks were really nice although even he featured in the above dumb/poor kick off HB to the middle of the ground just outside of the 50, not to the advantage of his team mate which then resulted in a shot on goal.

What does Jack bring to Sydney now? He appears to be a permanent HFF who looks slow and can't kick the ball. For the few times he got it, he really did nothing to the advantage of Sydney with the ball in hand (imo). Thought Parker and Kennedy were p retty average with ball in hand as well, at least Kennedy was basically impossible to bring down though and got disposals out of opportunities that would have been a ball up for most other players in the comp.

Still don't really rate the Eagles massively but their backline is pretty boss. Schofield did a decent job defensively I thought, Barrass much the same. McGovern spent time up forward but filled in holes late in quarters to steady up the Eagles backline and he reads the ball so well in the air - those 3 really make the long bomb into the Eagles backline very hard to do much with and that's basically all Sydney tried to do with clearances coming from the midfield.

I have less loopholes then you this week so am disappointed haha.

Bont VC, Newman EMG (Gotta decide who I drop out of Hampton/Otten/Marchbank), SPP EMG (SPS if <60)

Unfortunately no forward loophole for me as I have Butler/Eddy/Miles and Pickett, can EMG Pickett in the forward line but Eddy plays before hand / Miles is the swaparoo player.

Oh and Miles isn't even in the 25 so can't be a late in

    Re: Round 4 2017

Pretty sure you can bring in a player from outside the 25, but it just results in a fine. Remember it happening once either last season or the year before. They might have changed the rules since though.

Also loving the loopholes this week, am getting a look at SPP vs McGrath and Pickett vs Taranto (maybe Pickett will finally score this week ), plus finally get to do a proper captaincy loophole. One thing im taking away from this season already is that sacrificing a rookie spot for a proper floating donut is pretty damn important - Miles was a halfarsed attempt at that, next year I think a proper one accounting for all the early fixtures is key. Lost so many points on those 50/50 calls.

Also agree 100% with Dylan, Sydney are a terribly frustrating team to watch. Banging the ball on Buddys head never works, Hawks only really got good when we stopped doing that shit and started hitting up leads. Sydney have so many butchers in the midfield though, its hard to see anything changing soon. Actually I only 95% agree with Dylan because I thought Newman was pretty damn poor with his disposal, constantly stuffed up the short kicks and worst of all, the kicks into the corridor. Hopefully Horse doesnt drop him as a scapegoat.

I didnt think the Eagles were super impressive last night but they got it done. Shuey looks like a genuine SC premo this year, something I wasnt expecting given Naita is out. McGovern had a great game considering he was on 1 SC at QT and finished with 115 or so, like him as a swingman as he does a lot of nice things up forward - just needs to work on his set shot.

Lastly, holy shit Yeo is tempting again. Its the same thing as the last couple of seasons, if he plays HBF then he is absolutely a premium. The way he goes after marks, rebounds and spreads reminds me a whole lot of Docherty from last year. Been hearing a bit out of the coaches last couple of weeks about how Yeo has been a revelation in a settled position in the back line... it's damn frustrating because that was so damn obvious to anyone who watches the guy play, but it at least gives confidence that he will stay there and not get pushed to the HFF.

I blame the first one on Lloyd, that was a really markable mark that he just stuffed up. I did miss a bit of the game though so maybe I missed a few more, but I thought his kicking in the first was on song when he was getting plenty of it.
