    SCOTT: George Horlin-Smith unfortunately has had surgery on a fracture in his thumb. He'll miss this week.
    Not sure how many weeks or if just this week.

    think my RDT trading options are:
    GHS->WHE

    or

    GHS->WHE
    & Simpkin/Bowes->Houston

    or

    GHS->Houston
    & Taranto->Nankervis

    might just go the one trade GHS for WHE at this stage.

    As good as Houston has been, I think he's a real shot to get dropped for Pittard, if not this week then next.

    Think I'll be about 20k short of moving ghs to whe, might have to figure out a way to cash someone else in, maybe Bowes to Newman.

    Pickett to Butler seems a bit of a waste of a trade to me.

    having watched Pickket in the last two games, I dont think his scoring is going to improve. There are simply to many other players in our backline who are going to accumulate the ball back there(our forward line is non existent 80% of the game). I also think his lacking the engine to run out a game. Still tossing up the trade, either Butler or Houston are looking ideal.

    Now with Hombsch ruled out for a month with a knee injury my thoughts have changed re: Dan Houston.

    Think he's also a must now in SC at least as his JS has rapidly improved.

    Re: Round 3 Trades

    That makes this pretty compelling:
    GHS -> WHE
    Pickett / Parfitt -> Houston

    Still considering the honey pot trade
    Rough -> WHE
    GHS -> Murph

    Re: Round 3 Trades

    So with guys like Murphy, Watson, Oliver and WHE off to really strong starts compared to their current price, I was wondering whether they actually need to be keepers for them to be worth trading in? Obviously a concern on here is once the Collingwood guys return, WHE comes back to reality. Murphy and Watson might peak at that 96-102 kind of range and Oliver should also come back as he's not going to average 35.5 touches for the entire season. They've all got chances to be around the keeper/premium mark though if things go right.

    Even if they don't though, are they worth it? These guys look set to make anywhere between 75-150k in 2 weeks and there's a chance if you're moving on an injured/under-preforming cash, you'll be gaining extra cash in hand quickly for moves. Currently, from the 15 rookies I selected this year, only two are averaging over 66 in McGrath and SPP. 9 of those 15 are averaging under 60 and not all of them are guaranteed to remain in the side - dead ruck, one dropped, one has been traded, one was dropped to become a late inclusion along with some really iffy guys this week. It's not like they won't generate cash, but it will be slower and we'll maybe be with less guys generating cash given they could be out of the side. Makes the above guys slightly more tempting to me, I get decent to premium scores short term along with maybe freeing up cash if I move a premium down. They also make cash to be a swap and increase my teams overall value.

    I guess to counter the above, using Barrett as an example who is averaging 60.5 (so nothing special), in 3 weeks time he'll have made 124k which is similar to what the above guys will be making. So mightn't really be needed either given the trades required to bring the above in then move again.
