    Jamie Cox on NRoo:

"He'll miss at least a week, he may miss a couple, but hopefully not too many more than that."

yep thanks mate. That's not vague or unintelligible at all...

    Re: Round 2 Trades

I suppose we can't really base it v how long other players have missed with hyper extensions in the past as I assume they're all different levels?

Sort of sounds like it depends how his body recovers but I suppose there's a chance it's just the next two weeks. If that's all it is, does kind of make it tempting to hold, obviously grabbing a cheaper player who scored well is also tempting as it frees up cash to splash elsewhere.

Said it elsewhere, but my biggest concern about trading him is I think when he returns, he'll be a strong scorer and then pretty much force my hand to bring him back in. He's still old and one of those guys I prefer to start with then trade in as he's likely to miss games down the track and if that was to happen I could easily burn 3 trades on bringing him out/in, let alone the trade/s needed to generate cash to bring him back in the second time.

    Re: Round 2 Trades

I held Sidebottom last year and it cost me about 150 points, think you have to trade at this point on a 2 week injury that absolutely could be lingering even when he plays. At his price with that score already in the system it's very unlikely he becomes more unaffordable. There's absolutely a point where if he's cheaper his durability and the upgrading into him can kind of cancel out a bit.

there's no upside to keeping Nroo. High risk and at best its a wash, at worst a disaster.

    Re: Round 2 Trades

Yeah more leaning towards trading now. Just matter of whether I do it this week or get another look at the field before pulling the trigger.

If it was a premium then it would be this week. Midpricer has me slightly more wanting to wait so I can weigh it all up next week along with whatever else I'd try to do.

    Re: Round 2 Trades

I really think holding NRoo if it is only 2 weeks is a good move, the big problem being that it just seems too hard to know if it's going to be 2, 3 or 4 weeks out.

He's definitely someone i want in the team when fit. Last year i did a Rd1 trade out of whoever it was that got a small 1-2 week injury Rd1 (Mitch Robinson?) and went to Sam Gray and had nightmares ever since. I really don't want to make the same mistake twice on that front.

    Re: Round 2 Trades

At the end of the day though it's better to trade and be wrong (comes back in 2 weeks in perfect shape), than to not trade and be wrong (takes 3-4+ and comes back a bit slow).

I burst through all my trades every year and it never really hurts me at the backend as you can build a solid bench by then. We have 30 trades so if you can make your team better then use them is my philosphy.

If I have to bring him back in then so be it.

Anyone have the heat map for Jack Gunston? Watching parts of the game he didn't get the midfield time I was hoping for.

    Re: Round 2 Trades

So trading NRoo & Joel Smith in RDT

Ideally would like to turn Smith into McGrath, which leaves the following options for NRoo:
    -Johannisen
    -Heppell
    -Touk Miller
    -Franklin

Reckon I'm going to roll the dice on Miller. Confident with where all my other premiums sit that I'm more open on a little risk. Plus another forward would give me the best structure.

Initially I was very keen on Heppell, but upon thinking about it, there will be several opportunities to grab a premium mid for 543k during the season, so not much point spending on Heppell if I'm not absolutely sure he will be a top 8 mid.
Confident JJ is a top 6 and think he's a solid selection. Probably doesn't represent the value of Miller and while structure is OK with this option, would mean playing an extra rookie forward which could be risky.
Listed Franklin as an option, but he's probably 4th/4 for me given his durability concerns and limited upside.

Other option would be not McGrath, but instead Adams + other rookie (Houston/Hannan/Butler)

    Round 2 Trades

With WHE's performance tonight and rolling lockout, most should be planning to bring him in next week. Set yourself up tomorrow to be able to achieve this next week.

Perhaps, personally I don't think he's a must have (3 goals in Q4 although did look good all game, great endurance.)

Pies draw gets harder next 6, but mainly I don't see someone to trade out in my side. If you've got more than 1 rookie on field in the forward line, or an injury or dropped rookie, then probably worthwhile.
