I've never seen so many rookies fail. Think we will have to find some coin to get McGrath.

    Yep.

Quite simply the teams ranked highly after this week will be the ones that had a bit of luck to avoid as many of those 30-40 scores as possible.

Most of the premos have scored well.

The midprice guys also killed it this week, this week at least was clearly the mid and premium tactic as much as possible. Those who managed to just start someone like Butler, SPP and the two back premium rookies are laughing and that was certainly plausible as a tactic!

I got Butler (via loophole) and SPP on the ground and only copped Otten and Hampton (who basically everyone had) so did ok on that front. If I'd picked JJK rather than Greene and VCed him, I'd be in first place . Love a bit of Rd 1 hindsight!!

Not sure it's luck. I deliberately structured my team so that Eddy and SPP were the only base price rookies starting. Most of the rubbish scores were on the pine.

There's certainly elements of luck though, I tried to do somewhat similarly but those who started someone like Smith were really unlucky has he had as many points in a quarter as some guys had for the whole game. Then there are the Taranto type failures that really just go down as bad luck, he showed everything you could want in the preseason and then didn't show up.

Reckon there is also a bit to be said for those with the loophole, this weekend is the perfect example of where it's value can be huge, some weeks it costs points or does very little but this week it was golden wtih Butler such a strong loop candidate.
