    Ainsworth and Bowes to debut.

A week after securing their futures at Metricon Stadium until the end of 2020, 19-year-olds Ben Ainsworth and Jack Bowes will make their AFL debuts this Saturday night against the Brisbane Lions.

Coach Rodney Eade delivered the good news to the duo earlier this week, advising Ainsworth and Bowes they would play their first AFL games in QClash 13.

So Mountford was pretty high on this list, scored well from pretty low TOG. Anyone considering?

I think he'll play as something of a tagger with Jacobs out but he's certainly someone to consider given his price.

Bonner has been named in the Magpies SANFL side. Pretty good indication that Houston will play vs Sydney.

Durdin to make his debut this weekend. Replacing Scott Thompson who is suspended.

Balic's hip injury only expected to sideline him for a week (2 at most) so could be straight swap for Hill. Pearce, Sutcliffe in mix too.

    And there it is....

PORT Adelaide defender Dan Houston has been left out of the side for Sunday's game against Gold Coast in China. The 19-year-old wasn't among the 25 players who flew out of Adelaide for Shanghai in two groups on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Houston is the only change to the team that lost to West Coast last weekend, while Brendon Ah Chee, Aidyn Johnson, Logan Austin and Karl Amon come into the extended squad.
Experienced forward Angus Monfries has also been overlooked after two impressive games in the SANFL, while 10 goals in the past two weeks in the state league wasn't enough for 27-year-old rookie Brett Eddy to force his way back into the team.

    Re: Forward Rookies

On Wednesday morning a 25-man extended squad boarded the SUNS’ Singapore Airlines flight to Shanghai.

With the scheduled departure falling four days out from the round eight match, all three travelling emergencies made the trip to China to ensure all bases were covered.

As confirmed in the Optomo Injury Report on Tuesday, Rory Thompson has made the trip ahead of the historic match at Jiangwan Sports Centre.

Brayden Fiorini, Jack Bowes, Matt Shaw, Keegan Brooksby and Josh Schoenfeld also boarded the flight as new additions to the Gold Coast line-up that defeated Geelong last Saturday at Metricon Stadium.

David Swallow (knee), Callum Ah Chee (back) and Matt Rosa (concussion) have not made the trip to Shanghai.

    Re: Forward Rookies

    http://www.richmondfc.com.au/news/20...engle-elevated

Richmond has elevated young, small forward Tyson Stengle from the rookie list to the senior list.

The Woodville-West Torrens product was the Tigers first pick, No. 6 overall, at the 2017 Rookie Draft.

The 171cm, 70kg, 18-year-old has made impressive progress with Richmond’s VFL team this season, booting 13 goals across eight matches.

The final 22 to face the Swans will be announced on richmondfc.com.au this evening at 6.25pm.
Feel like Richmond have enough small forwards but another one is in the mix. Could be something to watch out for if you're bringing in Bolton as Stengle would be in competition for a spot.

    Re: Forward Rookies

I very much doubt anyone still has him but Harley Balic has finally arrived back and is training with the rest of the Fremantle group. Could put his hand up for selection in the coming weeks but if he wants out, then they have no real reason to play him.

    Re: Forward Rookies

Beech still in the team, will be interesting to see how long he lasts, would be tempted to trade Parsons to him but at the same time, it will be very hard for him to remain in the team long term I imagine.

Still got Eddy as dead weight, think he kicked 6 on the weekend from 13 touches in a loss so hopefully he can somehow work his way into the side.
