    Good enough for me

I'm sure if he tears up in the pre-season games he'll be in every team.

Got burned pretty badly by ol Rocky last year. Might be a sneaky one for draft leagues though.

He had no preseason and was banged up, very different to having a full preseason with the midfield group.

Wines to miss early would also be a big factor, he could make a very big start in the right role.

Having said that, has to earn it in the preseason for mine, his durability is pretty awful and he's never really played well in a good team so hard to judge how he'll score if in playing to win mode rather than "get my stats" mode.

Wasn't it said recently that his pre season wasn't all that impressive?

Edit: That was AT but that was just a one liner for memory so not much to that so ignore the above.

Yeah I read it on BF somewhere. (Will have a dig through now.)

Here is his 11 minute clip from yesterday too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAhB1UhpfxM
Been in full contact training for 2-3 weeks only, but reckons did a lot of running and in better shape than last year.

Port have an intraclub tomorrow so we can start to find out how he goes (playing that and AFLX)

Rocky vs Brad Crouch is going to be in interesting choice this year.
Both are wildly underpriced, but I don't think you can pick both.
Crouch gets the nod for me, at this point. Rocky actually played 18 games last year, so he earned his price drop a lot more than Crouch did.
Rocky didn't have a game last year where he played less than 75 mins. So he doesn't have any significantly injury affected games to anchor his average.

Rocky played as a tagger at times. He was tagging Zerrett for the whole game when they played the Bombers.

Not going anywhere near Rocky this year.
Despite the good pre-season, while SPP is in the team those two compete too much for the same role and Rocky ends up with low tog.
Unlike at the Lions, port don't feed him the ball.

    Re: Midfield Midpricers

Rocky interests me more than Crouch simply because of the upside. Crouch not only has to stay fit, a major issue he hasn't even made the preseason without a couple of setbacks, but he also needs to find significant improvement in his scoring best average of 96 is still a solid 10-15 off the pace.

Rocky needs the right role but his ability to score is not in question. Having said that the shoulder injuries do seem to have impacted his tackling, similar to Ablett, which does lower everything with him. Bigger worry is role and his coach for mine.

At this point in time I think I'll let them both go through to the keeper but as always I'm ready to be wowed in the JLT.

    Re: Midfield Midpricers

I'm more interested in Rocky myself. I think if he has actually has had a pre season then he'll be able to run out games and get proper minutes in the midfield instead of the forward line - although maybe Wingard going means they like him up forward as well. But his upside is huge and it's something I'm always going to consider.

Crouch didn't get a big enough discount to really make him relevant, in DT at least Sloane is the same price and I'd much rather take that risk on then Crouch who needs the scoring and durability. Given Crouch played last week in the under 23 game v Port, the foot injury mustn't have been too bad as it was said only a couple of weeks before that and given the no risk they've put him under, doesn't concern me too much yet.

Well Crouch looked a hell of a lot better than Rocky and I don't see myself touching Rocky with how he looked. Didn't really seem to notice him in the midfield much but he did only play 60% TOG.

Crouch looked really good, Matt was quite good at dishing it off to him, still big on Sloane myself.

Don't think he's relevant to proper teams, but just looking at Draft.
Someone I've noticed a sharp uptick in scoring late last year and early this year, which hasn't been talked about, is James Harmes.

    His finish to last year:
    Rd 20: 106/114
    Rd 21: 97/107
    Rd 23: 104/118
    EF: 118/122
    SF: 104/95
    PF: 86/88
    P1: 97/101
    P2: 30/40 (injured, 31%tog)
    Rd 1: 91/103
    Rd 2: 94/92

Is there a sustainable reason for this?

don't think a huge amount has changed besides maybe him being in more CBs for this time period, his centre clearances have gone up a lot, and stoppage clearances in general.
Viney, Oliver, Brayshaw/Harmes looks the preferred set up in there

Harmes is helped a little by Tyson leaving and Nathan Jones being used more in flank roles as he gets on in years. Certainly think draft leagues are his best bet.

    Re: Midfield Midpricers

I would have been all over Harmes if he'd kept the forward tag from last year (won me a couple of draft leagues at least!).

He's moved into a tagging role in the midfield that has gotten him full time midfield minutes and he's a more attacking tagger who tries to win the ball where possible, get forward and kick goals if he can and tackles like a mofo. Basically as the "tagger" he's become a main part of the midfield and is basically there and then tags if needed. Can have some quieter games where he's a full tag all day but generally he's more a momentum tagging choice. Was floating between Danger and Kelly against Geelong. I'd say he's a 90s level scorer most likely though but never know.
