Are people just using an extra M/F player to fill the void at M11?

Pretty much. I've got Miles there at the moment who might get a game, but honestly I would be fine if he could just be a non playing loophole until Witts has made his money (and I trade him for a deal D3 loophole).

Yep - Deluca-Cardillo mid/fwd Freo 102K seems the best to loophole with Freo having many late games pre byes.

Pickett/Parfitt the other ones on my mid bench who I expect to be picked to swap with him.

Hoping Barrett gets elevated soon.... Powell-Pepper the only mid rookie I am starting.

I've got two on the bench at the moment and expecting that could be 3 if Barrett doesn't get an upgrade or a curveball doesn't come in from elsewhere right now.

Are you worried at all about going into the season with a guy that's no chance to play during the byes?

Yes but given the lack of decent mid rookies this year I am thinking that a guy who has dual classification to loophole with Pickett/Parfitt/Eddy will help me gain quite a few points to help offset this.

Much depends on teams, which rookies are named - just considering the idea.

    Re: Midfield Rookies

With two less teams for the middle bye as well, it makes it less damaging (but still important) this year.

Hasn't been an issue the last two seasons. Needing just 18 players has made the byes particularly easy to manage, having 3 trades means you have to get really unlucky or really mismanage it to not have 18, imo.

The only real bye difficulty this year is having enough missing in r12 so as to not completely unbalance things on the other byes and even then it's really only the first bye that needs strong pre-planning.

Also need to be careful not to get too carried away with GC & Port players now as Rd 9 is still best 22.

Yep, we are quite lucky they don't have too many premium choices.

I'll definitely look at Tom Lynch after Round 9. Not so sure on anyone else.

It probably forces you to downgrade one of those GCS rookies coming into R8, but makes holding the others more viable for the rest of your bye structure.

I currently have Eddy, Bowes, SPP, Ainsworth & Swallow so I have to manage that carefully given injuries will be a factor as well.

But Gray, Lynch types are incredibly attractive upgrade targets.

It's basically the following for me:

Pittard - Could be cheap if he starts slow but unlikely for me.
KK - He'd need to be going gangbusters for me.
Ablett - Unlikely because of durability but never know.
    Gray - Strong contender.
    Wines - Ditto.
Ryder - Like KK for me.
Lynch - Decent option, needs the team to be holding up.
Wingard - Same as KK again.

Probably missing someone but those are the names that I think of. Can add Hall and Barlow in DT as well I reckon and maybe Hanley in SC if he can get back to his best.

Is Petrevski-Seton a likely strong scorer? Why didn't he play any pre season matches?

Scoring wise in U/18 comp he had 78dt/93sc and WAFL Colts 93dt/123sc

So shows he can score well enough. Also I think he had 20+ touches in the VFL warm up game last weekend in just over half of footy.

Has been injured reason he never played any Pre Season games.
