So reckon he's in that 60-70/65-75 as a half forward if he plays the full game and isn't managed through it. Think you can add 10 to those numbers if he did play a midfield role.

Given the rookie midfield options he's certainly an option and I'd say he's the most reliable starting choice there outside SPP (feel like I'm talking about wine with these letter combos!) and he's probably worth the premium for those starting two midfield rookies but it's just really hard to tell what his role will be, he could be the forward pocket in which case drop 10 off those averages type scenario.

Kid can play though and reckon he could be a good slow burner of a rookie as he finds his feet. The quad injury and no preseason action is a genuine concern though, lots of players come back from quads too early and I'd worry that round 1 probably qualifies as that for him.

He had a down season though last year, he's better than that.

He's not a huge scorer, but he's classy.
Apparently tore it up in intraclub last week (not sure how I missed this, seems most didn't know about it, need to find some info)

I'm pretty confident he's straight into our mids though for good chunks of the game. He's probably already 4th behind Cripps, Murph and Gibbs lol.
Think he'll be quite contested, no interest in DT but big interest in SC.

    - true. But only need one key defender on Riewoldt and one on Griffiths. I think they will go with two talls only.

Yep still really like Marchbank. As mentioned won't have to take key forwards, even with Weitering going forward (Macreadie / Rowe / Plowman / others) and then Weiters goes back before putting Marchbank on someone too defensively I reckon.

Marchbank ranked = No.1 at the club for long kicks across JLT, also ranking 3rd for metres gained p/game behind Simmo and Doch. #SuperCoach

Marchbank is basically going to play the role Weitering did last year right?

Weitering was often in the square, on important key forwards. Did do a lot of intercepting though. I think Marchbank can link up a little more than that as he has in pre-season.

    Re: Back Rookies

Marchbank will take the 2nd or even 3rd tall forward from what I saw of him in the Freo JLT. And that was with Weitering playing forward.

Haven't seen it posted here but Macreadie is playing tonight. Not sure who he's in for. Still wouldn't pick him though!

Melbourne has upgraded Joel Smith from the rookie list as the replacement for Mitch King, who was already on the long-term injury list.

Starting to think there is enough depth in the back rookies now to pass on Marchbank and McGrath.

    This is a great post.

I think so too, will definitely depend on teams, however, I am off McGrath (still have Marchbank though).

I think Marchbank will still be popular given the way Carlton play from defence. Should see a lot of the footy as a result of it.

Smith from Melbourne will be named as Garland's replacement. JS seems to be sound.

Getting rid of Marchbank gets me another premium. Really hope Guthrie gets elevated. I'm not that keen on Hibberd.

I think I still want Marchbank in SC, but I am not a believer in Hibberd either.

Really keen to start 4 rookie defenders if team selections allow me to.
