Here is Cal Twomey's (AFL U-18 journalist) current phantom form guide (not mock draft).

    http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-06-3...tom-form-guide

    Top 10 from him:

    1. Will Brodie
    2. Ben Ainsworth
    3. Sam Petrevski-Seton
    4. Hugh McCluggage
    5. Jack Bowes
    6. Daniel Venables
    7. Will Setterfield
    8. Andrew McGrath
    9. Jack Scrimshaw
    10. Jarrod Berry

    Re: 2016 AFL Draft thread

    Early doors picks for #1:
Cal Twomey has Will Brodie (Vic C inside mid) #1 on his form guide. Reckons the no 1 pick will come from Brodie, Hugh McCluggage (Vic C outside mid), Ben Ainsworth (Vic C small fwd) or Sam Petrevski-Seton (WA outside mid). GC academy pick Jack Bowes at #5.

Brett Anderson currently has Hugh McCluggage at #1. Jack Bowes at #2

HS with an article today suggesting Ess could bid on Bowes at #1.

Good article from Anderson in IF as to why Ess should trade pick 1:
    http://www.sen.com.au/news/afl/06-16...ly-has-to-make

Cliffs: Suns have pick 3, in order to avoid using pick 3 on Bowes if someone bids early, they'd trade 3 and 9 (or whatever their 2nd pick is) to Ess for 1 and 19. Points similar. Benefits to Ess being two top 10 picks when the top 4 prospects are fairly even, benefit to the Suns being they get potentially the best 2 in the draft in Bowes and pick 1.

    Re: 2016 AFL Draft thread

Was just looking at the Suns picks this year and it's going to take some time to get my head around it all.

Gold Coast - round-one selection (received from Melbourne in an exchange of picks); round-two selection (received from Richmond as part of Charlie Dixon trade); round-two selection (received from Port Adelaide as part of Charlie Dixon trade); round-two selection (received from Fremantle via a pick exchange)

    Currently that would be mean they have; 3, 9, 21, 22, 26, 28, 39, 57, 75.

If Bowes was nominated at #1, that would cost them 2400 points (3000-20%), which would be pick 3 and then 166pts which would drop pick #9 down to #11. So then they would get Bowes, #11, #21, #22, #26 etc

In pvc's proposed trade, GC could get #1 and then let's imagine that Bowes was nominated at pick #2. That would cost GC 2013.6 points (2517 - 20%). Pick 19 is worth 948 potins, leaving 1065.6. Pick 21 is worth 878, leaving 187.6. Pick 22 would then be downgraded to pick #28 and their #26 would become #25 and their #28 would become #27.

So basically, it would end up with either:

    Bowes, #11, #21, #22, #26, #28, #39 or
    #1, Bowes, #25, #27, #28, #39

Thus giving #11, 21, 22, 26 for #1, 25, 27 which would be an incredibly good deal for GC.

Of course, given how GC have approached other essendon trades, they'll also demand Hurley for pick 27 right at the end of trade week.

Will Brodie looks like he could be a star player just watching some highlights. I know it's early to say but he could be a 200 game player for whoever picks him.
I think Essendon should grab him he will be perfect around the midfield. He will play games next year and seems to have the body to step right in.
Matt Crouch is my boy for 2016 season, can he dominate 2016? time will tell....................

    Patrick Keane@AFL_PKeane 3m3 minutes ago
AFL Commission has advised Bris Lions it will be awarded a Priority Pick after rd1 (curr. 19) for 2016 Draft, under Special Assistance Rule.

Commission accepted joint recommendation from Andrew Dillon/Mark Evans that a pick be awarded after Lions finished 17/17/15 over last 3 yrs.

Was ruled Lions met Priority Pick requirements when considering club’s current age/list profile, recent movement both in/out of club.ends
