    Beveridge on Adams

"He's lining up well for his AFL debut and at the moment it will be hard to dislodge him from the 22," Beveridge said

"We knew we were drafting an endurance athlete who has speed as well, and you can tell by the look of him he's a powerful young man.

"It's been a pleasant surprise, he's been able to hold his own straight away against some bigger forwards."

Nice Bevo, love it when a coach makes solid statements like that.

Brown, Tippa and Adams all DPP and just about locks, very handy.

And not sure you want any of them on the field (DT post).

Going to be some very interesting structures I reckon.

    Re: Back Rookies

Not sure what you mean, all three have shown pretty positive signs of scoring potential.

Between the 3 of them over 9 possibilities there is 3 scores above 52 and 4 scores below 37. With a 50 and 51 as the other two scores.

Tip has the best average of the trio at 53, that's Jake Neade getting annihilated by the vest level bad as far as scoring goes and he's the best of the 3.

They all look better in SC to me but I'd certainly rather not be starting any of them on exposed form in DT... the problem is no one else has exactly put their hand up to be started instead so they might be the best of some bad options.

For what it's worth you've got Hartley at 46, Ruggles at 51, Cowan at 45, Weitering at 67 and Newman at 44(only played a half in the 17 but even if you doubled that it's still only 52) as the other "strong" options.

It's actually possible we might have 8 rookie back options and not actually want any of them on the field.

The Bombers boys have a real advantage that they're going to get plenty of supply at least...

I still plan on trying to start 4 if I can because I hate the premiums and the mid rookies just look even worse.

    Re: Back Rookies

It's NAB cup reduced games and these are guys who have never played AFL footy. The positive is all three have shown potential to score well, all three have posted a score over 65-70DT. Hell some of the premiums have struggled to do that.

The main thing is to watch rookies through the NAB and their roles. Adams and Brown are both going to be getting involved in the rebounding from what I've seen and Tippa looks a solid player in a number of roles. In a year of rubbish rookies we aren't privvy to much better.

I doubt Neade averaged much more than 30-35 DT through his NAB cup games in his first season.

    Pretty good news.
This post was more than likely SC based.
If in doubt, assume it was.

I'd still rather not have to start them if it was avoidable, which I don't think it is if you want to go with 3 or 4 rookies down back. Those 35 scores are brutal and all of those guys have a pretty good likelihood of it happening fairly regularly. I think they're all actually really solid rookie options I'd just much prefer it was from the bench.

Mitch Brown for example has played 14 AFL games in an immensely stronger side and has a career average of 47.5, 9 of the 14 games were below 50, he had 4 games ranging from 69-79 as his 4 best games.

Again... at least one of those 3 looks destined to be on my field, I'm not happy about it though! Harry Taylor is the best rookie KPD I can remember and he managed a 58.

Hopefully I end up pleasantly surprised

Thing I'm liking the most about all these potential links is that I'll be able to move my worst preforming midpricer to basically the best midpricer/rookie I don't have in any position really.

    That's a key point actually.
It's one of the reasons I'm pretty happy to run Petracca. He's just so handy as a link man wherever you need him.

Think it was mentioned in another thread today, but yep - it's definitely not bad news

We had a rookie spot on the senior list though and it was always going to be him.

Galucci is the one that might get a spot on the list for an LTI (Mackay) too.
