    Re: 2016 Nab Challenge

Bryce Gibbs is someone I'm going to be watching closely as well, twice in his career he has averaged ~107ppg so can match it with the best. New coach, new pack of players and has recently entered fatherhood also.

Long shot, but Malthouse really killed that club last year. If he can find the right role with the club playing the right gameplan to score well he can still certainly score with the best for mine.

It's not as if its unprecedented - Steven (86ppg 2014, 111ppg 2015) and Armitage (88ppg 2014, 107ppg 2015). Not saying the Blues are close to the Saints just yet in terms of talent on the park but Gibbs for mine is most likely severely underpriced.

    Re: 2016 Nab Challenge

One thing I do love about Gibbs is his durability: 22, 21, 22, 22, 22, 22, 19, 22, 10 since the start of his career.

Has a sub affected game in his average from last year (37 DT / 49 SC) then had the 2 game suspension on return (I believe the first of his career) then the pec injury on return from that (so, technically two sub affected games but he played out the last one.)

Pre-season reports are good. I'll definitely keep a keen eye out for him!

    Re: 2016 Nab Challenge

There will be some hand wringing when Freo lose this game. Virtually full strength against a very weak Tigers team.

Best 22 from Freo missing - MJ, Bennell.

Fyfe playing is interesting, may come back into calculations. Griffin ahead of Clarke, for anyone thinking about R/F from Freo (you shouldn't be). Blakely has been the stand out younger player according to some training reports.

I'm actually kind of annoyed that Fyfe is playing... indicates he's in good shape to play this early which means I now have to factor him into my plans... #firstworldSCproblems.

Aside from Fyfe I'm not surprised. Teams tend to name strong teams for games in their home state and then go with weaker squads for interstate trips. Hence no Cotchin, Lids or Martin.

From a WCE perpective, as Sledgey said above, we are resting all our big names for an interstate trip.

No NN/Lycett/Shuey/Priddis/EMac/Kennedy/Darling. Bit surprised to see Gaff named tbh. Looking forward to seeing Yeo in action, Luke Partington has been the most impressive of our new recruits on the training track so looking forward to seeing him play. Hopefully Lucas is just an emergency & can be the water boy for the day.

I don't think Freo actually go interstate this nab, so will be interesting to see if they rest later on

Looking forward to seeing Mitch McGovern in action.

No idea how our forward line lines up - Tex, Jenkins, Lynch, Dear, McGovern all as KP/3rd tall type forwards.
