Biggest Spuds to pull on the jumper

    Simple rule:

List the players that have been the biggest spuds to pull on an AFL jumper. Rules are:
    - Must be a first round pick.
    - Played less than 60games.

    I'll kick it off:
Richard Cole: Pick 11 in the 2001 draft.

Waste of a pick by Collingwood and a waste of Essendon trading pick 23 for him. That stings as we could have got Andrew Swallow in that draft for pick 23.

Kane Lucas comes to mind, though he's about to star for the Eagles, right @Bunga ?

@pvcyclone didn't mind him, though he seems to have turned on him!

Love my man Beau Maister to death, but in his first four games last season he dropped more marks than you could believe. Worked hard but a rubber upper body it seemed. Couldn't get anything to stick to save himself.

Which is a shame because I did love him.
St Kilda 2011 - Finish 6th, lose first final, lose maligned yet valuable player (Dawson)
Collingwood 2013 - Finish 6th, lose first final, lose maligned yet valuable player (Thomas)

St Kilda 2012 - Close to but miss finals, lose marquee midfielder (Goddard)
Collingwood 2014 - Close to but miss finals, lose marquee midfielder (Beams)

St Kilda 2013 - Finish 16th, lose Dal Santo, sack coach
    Collingwood 2015 - ?

    Tony Notte.

Pick 20, 2007 draft. Played a grand total of 2 games over 3 years.

194cms/70 kgs ringing wet fwd - never seen a player so thin in my life & don't think he ever put on any weight in his 3 years at the club. If he was standing side on you would not see him.

Talented, had good hands & skills but poor work ethic & was just lazy. Was not prepared to put in the hard yards despite having the talent, one of my absolute pet hates. Guys that have the ability to make it but just can't be stuffed.

Re: Biggest Spuds to pull on the jumper

Basically every Sydney first round pick between McVeigh (2002) and at least Rohan (2009) (too soon on all but Lamb since then and Jetta and Rohan between them I guess make 1 borderline acceptable player, maybe!). Including such luminous names as Willoughby, O'Keefe (not Ryan), Veszpremi (traded for Everitt and we won that trade, that's probably the scientific way to determine a spud) and Johnston.

Reid and Jetta are certainly the two biggest spuds currently getting a run for Sydney, when you are comfortably the two worst players on the ground in a 60 point flogging that also included Rohan's 1 out of 10 effort it probably sums it up.

Our spuds though are generally so bad they don't even play, so that's a "positive"?
