Yeah, either every kick in will be a stat or none of them will.

I'm sure we'll get more stats on this but depending which way they go 2 players that could be affected the most.

60% of Rory Laird's kick-ins since 2016 (H&A only) have been to himself - the highest % of the top-100 kick-in players in the AFL

Only 3 of Luke Ryan's 140 kick-ins have been to himself (2%). Not ideal for fantasy.

Either Laird is going to lose a lot of points or Ryan gain a lot.
That's potentially an extra 411pts for Ryan, would take him from 77 DT avg to 97!

Backline will be loaded with guys that kick in.

Yeah kick ins would become DT relevant for sure, ton of very underpriced guys (even Laird fwiw). SC I don't think it will make a significant difference. You can basically find guys who take kick ins by their ratios half the time because it counts obviously (like Ryan for example).

Just putting this out there now. Hope I'm wrong but I suspect the AFL has been angling to give the Good Friday game to Essendon since its inception and will use the timing of Good Friday next year as an excuse to schedule them for the game and then leave them in there after that.

As predicted, Ess play Good Friday and now AFL saying

"We need to make a decision about whether at some stage we lock in the two teams for a period of time ... that is a conversation we will have after this has all settled down."
