Yeah I disagree, they had a full strength side yesterday, there's been undermanned teams that have won flags (adel 97) that were far more impressive. Sydney didn't even give a yelp yesterday

I'm talking a whole season. They had to overcome a lot this year and it ended with humiliating a ridiculously stacked side.

I'm not talking any singular game here

Seriously what happened to Sydney yesterday? Very unlike them to not be up for the contest. They were as poor as Hawthorn was brilliant.

    Re: Grand Final Teams

They (Hawks) certainly had a lot stacked against them this year and were very impressive but caught a pretty lucky time to do it. It was a real transitional season with the power sides in the process of shifting. Other than Sydney who were pathetic yesterday there were no other stand out teams for the course of the whole season. I mean 2 of the top 4 sides went out in straight sets. I reckon had this stuff occurred to Hawthorn in the past few seasons with Collingwood, Geelong etc still up or in the next few years with Port and that reaching their prime they probably don't make the big dance or maybe even top 4 at all.

Still not taking anything away from Hawthorn it is a massive effort but in most other seasons there are more consistent and tougher sides than there were this year and the top 4 normally is a bit more solid.

How the judges voted for the 2014 Norm Smith Medal:
Nathan Buckley (ABC Radio); J Lewis, S Mitchell, J Gibson.
Chris Johnson (NIRS); L Hodge, S Mitchell, W Langford.
Cameron Ling (Channel 7); L Hodge, J Lewis, S Mitchell.
Anthony Hudson (SEN 1116); S Mitchell, L Hodge, J Lewis.
Craig O'Donoghue (The West Australian); J Lewis, L Hodge, S Mitchell.

Slightly late, but is Buckley a moron? How on Earth could he not give Hodgey any votes?!? Gibson wasn't even the best defender (Lake), and the Hawks defenders played virtually no role in the win anyway. Was all the midfield.

Agreed, thought Langford was pretty handy but only got the 1 vote. That goal he kicked was amazing (and the one pretty much over his head was pretty good as well).

Chris Johnson's complete lack of braincells cost me. How the **** was Jordan Lewis not top 3 on the ground?

Can they have a tied Norm Smith or do they have to pick a winner?

Has to be a sole winner.

They use # of 3 votes and then # of 2 votes as tiebreakers if necessary.
