    Re: Grand Final Teams

lots saying Ceglar should be in but I think McEvoy provides far more against this opposition than Ceglar would, Rioli to be a late out I reckon

    Re: Grand Final Teams

I think Rioli is a monty to be the sub personally - doubt he has the fitness to play a whole game at the intensity levels required. An explosive 30-40 mins from him could have a huge impact for the hawks. There is obviously big risk attached as if someone goes down early with an injury it could really expose them late in the game so a big call for the hawks to make.

Yeah not sure about Rioli playing, at best he should be the starting sub.

Would think Sewell might be handy against that Sydney midfield.

Bit of desperation from the Hawks with those changes..

Imagine the lift when Rioli comes on late in the 3rd when the game is tight though. Would be a great sub.

true but having him sit on the bench for 90mins can't be ideal, it would give a huge lift though

    Re: Grand Final Teams

Can probably rule it out but a repeat of the run down the wing with Jetta would be interesting given the developments of Rioli's hamstring and Jetta's hamburger problems since last time.

Imagine when injury forces Rioli on 20mins into Q1 and then his hammy pings just before the 1/4 time siren.

Point taken but history is littered with teams that take in underdone players and get punished as a result.

    Re: Grand Final Teams

I reckon McEvoy comes in to allow Hale to be a mismatch danger up forward. Going to be pretty good conditions for the talls, although the forecast is suggesting it'll get reasonably windy by the afternoon.

McEvoy's ability to get himself behind the play and take D50 marks might be helpful against the Syd attack.

Yeah agree - provides a bit of insurance against the Buddy/Tippett show.
