    Re: Semi Final Teams

Walters has only played 50 games?

Wow, I didn't realise it had been that little. Very impressive first 50 games then.

Reckon Blitz will surprise. His running ability should really come to the fore as a lone ruckman.

    Re: Semi Final Teams

Good test of just how important a ruckman is. Genuine situation of elite tap ruckman who is a bit weak around the ground against a very weak ruckman who covers a lot of ground and is very much a 1% type guy.

Sydney is a great example, we lose Mumford and even Pyke for most of the season but it just hasn't had a big impact at all on the midfield because we just rove the opposition ruckmen. Pyke in particular is excellent in the tackle and block work following up which provides better clearances for the midfield than a clean ruck tap does a lot of the time.

clearances for the most part are overrated too, Cats rank dead last in them. Swans rank bottom 5 yet are the #1 defense from stoppages, top 4 stoppage scoring differential too

Cats have always been a bit like that haven't they? Think they focus on putting the pressure on the opposition as soon as they get it which causes the turn over and leads to a quick rebound/easier chance to score.

Just an interesting stat with Fremantle

No team has won the week after coming back from ANZ stadium this season. Not sure on data from previous season, would be an interesting read if there was some, also I think there record without Ballantyne isn't great is it?

Trying to convince myself that Port are a good bet this weekend

I think Port are a good chance but I think any value for them has long gone. For all of what's said about losing Ballantyne, we won last start that he missed. From a fortnight ago, it's basically Fyfe for Ballantyne - I know which one of them I'd choose 100% of the time. I reckon it'll be close.

    Re: Semi Final Teams

I actually think both North and Port are a good chance beating Geelong and Freo. I wouldn't say they were favourites, but it isn't one of those throw away matches where you just assume that those lower ranked teams basically have no chance of winning.

lol, there has only been three games and the teams were all underdogs anyway, teams coming back from ANZ are 43-39-1 since 2003

i think they are around 33% without Balla, smashed Hawthorn the last time though

    Re: Semi Final Teams

I feel like Port are every chance to beat Freo but also think that Freo are the team that could actually beat Hawthorn of the pair.

Geelong vs North is a 50/50 for me, too many lame Cats right now. I'd say they both have about the same chance of beating Sydney.

Hopefully it's a good couple of games!

Awards Fyfe Award - for outstanding contributions

    Re: Semi Final Teams

My tips for this weekend are North and Fremantle.

Would be great if Port beat Freo over there though.
Matt Crouch is my boy for 2016 season, can he dominate 2016? time will tell....................
