    Re: Random Richmond Thread

Richmond has announced changes to its playing list after the completion of its 2014 campaign.

Seven players have not been offered contracts for the 2015 season, including senior listed players Aaron Edwards, Brett O’Hanlon and Brad Helbig, and rookies Orren Stephenson, Ben Darrou, Cadeyn Williams and Todd Banfield.

They join Daniel Jackson and Jake King, who retired during the season, as departures from Richmond.

Edwards played 12 games for the Tigers over two seasons, taking his career tally to 94, after stints with West Coast and North Melbourne.

Helbig played a total of 16 games over three seasons, while O’Hanlon represented the Club nine times.

Stephenson started both of his seasons at Tigerland as a rookie, but was elevated to the senior list on each occasion and finished with seven senior games in the Yellow and Black, after eight matches for Geelong in 2012.

Darrou, Williams and Banfield (53 games for Brisbane) failed to play a senior match for the Club.

“We’d like to thank all of these players for their hard work during their time at the Richmond Football Club,” said Richmond General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson.

“They have each made their own contribution to the Club, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”

Yeah he played 4 games, we took him as a rookie - he spent most of his time with WCE playing for West Perth in the WAFL.

Is Edwards finishing 4th a reason that whoever voted should be fired or what? I don't care what system you use, that shouldn't be possible!

Yeah Edwards had a pretty solid season. A lot more consistent with the type of footy you would only see in what was very rare patches in years past. The dude is only 24 or 25 which is surprising so nothing too out of the ordinary that he's hit some sort of peak now

@TIGERLICIOUS Just how likely/unlikely do you think it is Richmond play both Hampson and Maric?

Am looking at Maric again, I guess the one off putting thing is them playing them both, only happened 3 times last year before Hampson was given the flick so I guess it's safe to say if Maric is playing (and 100%), Hampson won't be?

My understanding is that Hampson is out for a couple of weeks at the moment anyway, so could plausibly not be an issue for a month? I think it might be one of those rare scenario's where it actually helps him because it greatly reduces the durability concern given he has basically broken down the two years previous to last year at the halfway point.

I think there is only room for one of those two in the team at any time if Vickery and/or Griffiths play. Maric is by far the better ruckman and his return to the team last year really helped us push into the finals and make that late charge. Hampson will only play if Maric gets injured imo. He should be a solid pick but do you see him outscoring a Jacobs, Martin, Mumford, or Goldstein?
