    Early SC Possible Changes

HS have their article out for anyone who thinks their vote might change things...

    http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/supe...-1226497667168

    Key Items

    - Trades being reviewed (sounds like more is the only thing being considered)
    - Rolling Lockout (FTMFW)
    - More emergencies (Would think it's either this or rolling lockout)

Outside of that, they want to ramp up the Pro option (draft based) which could be cool.

I personally love the idea of rolling lockout, really there is no reason not to have it with all the late changes and the AFL seemingly being fine with teams doing it so it will only get worse. Would take one of the stupidest and most pointless elements of "luck" out of the game.

    Thoughts?

Rolling lock outs would also help organised groups like ourselves.
Good transfer of info and people to cover teams if others are away.

Would be an absolute nightmare for the leagues where one guy manages all the teams too, so a positive.

    Re: Early SC Possible Changes

It rewards anyone willing to put the time/work in to stay on top of it, that's what I like about it. That and it removes an element over which we have little to no control.

The trading element would be very interesting though, for simplicity the best option would be to lock trades out on Friday as normal and only allow roster changes but the most powerful system would obviously allow trades all weekend.

Rolling lockout = VC/C loophole every week.

It would mean loophole most likely, nothing wrong with that

    Re: Early SC Possible Changes

I actually like it the way it is, last season you needed to dedicate serious time to it, have good strategies and trade strongly to make the top 1000. If they give us 30 trades, rolling lockouts, extra emergencies etc it makes it easier for the casual player.

An example is this. Currently we have 3 emergencies, we usually put an emergency in DEF, MID and FWD and risk it in the rucks (as does probably 99% of players). We often get inside word that Cox or Mumford or Nicnat is injured and a chance to miss, we switch one of our emergencies to cover the rucks but 95% of the general punters don't get that info therefore have no ruck emergency. Its a win for us. If you give everyone 4 emergencies there will be one in each position and our advantage is lost.

Rolling lockouts is the same, we have a better idea than anyone else of who is likely to play and who is likely to miss on a Friday. We don't want all the other supercoachers to be able to see the teams on Saturday and then fix their sides. The way it is you have to roll the dice when you lock your team on Friday, we are in a much stronger position to do this considering the info we have.

30 trades is insane, making a mistake wont hurt so bad with 30 trades. I want the average player to hurt when they make a bad trade because I am confident i will make better trades than them.

I hope they keep it the same. Trust me, any pain we feel 95% of other players feel it worse!

    Re: Early SC Possible Changes

I just want an extra bench position in the backs/mids/forwards along with 4 emg (1 for each position) personally.

    Re: Early SC Possible Changes

Doubt we'll see anything major going by that, more trades looks like the answer to the byes (disappointing). I hope to god it isn't 2 trades per week.

Surely after this season they would have realised that the extra trade around wasn't anywhere near enough to cope with the byes.

    Re: Early SC Possible Changes

I like the rolling lockout feature.

Agree with dylan & Skeeta on extra bench position in the backs/mids/forwards.

    3 emergencies still.

Will be annoyed if given 30 or more trades. The less trades the better for mine but I suspect Skeeta is right in that they will give us more trades than last season thus making it appealing to the masses/ average casual players.

Improved SC Pro could be a viable way of saving dynasty.

Am a big fan of rolling lockouts. It seriously is the future, well it should be the present but baby steps.

Less so of 30+ trades. You would be saving 6 of those just for the byes.

    Re: Early SC Possible Changes

I used 9 trades during the byes last year so would certainly go with the same approach if given 30+ trades.

I liked 24, was enough to endure the byes and plenty for the rest of the year.

If they have a rolling lockout there is actually no need for a vice captain.
