Josh Kennedy just won his first B&F and with a record score. What a great way to end the year for him!

    Re: Random Sydney Thread

Most here know of unashamed love of the way Sydney go about their football & what a professional organization they are. Last night, On the Couch had Keiran Jack as their special guest - he gave a real insight into the Sydney brand of football :-

Sydney's relentless pursuit on the ball and man is a hallmark of their trademark play and Kieren Jack is a key component of this successful philosophy.

Jack accumulated 32 disposals and laid nine tackles while finding himself among the best players in Sydney's 77-point demolition of Adelaide last Saturday.

Jack was a guest on Monday night's episode of On The Couch and earned the praise of Gerard Healy who remarked, "The most impressive feature of the Swans midfield is that you play three-way footy. You all win your own ball, you all kick goals and you all feature heavily in tackles.

"Looking at your name there, you've got 80 tackles this season, so you're obviously being paid per tackle.

Jack emphasised that it was a significant focus of his - and Sydney's - game.

"It is one of the things we really value as a midfield group, to be able to play two-way football," he said.

"We tackle hard and then once we've got the ball go as hard as well can the other way. If you're not prepared to do that, you won't get a game in the midfield.

"As a defensive tagger, I played on some of the best; Ablett, Judd, Cousins and I played on Akermanis in my first game. I really just followed them and took notes and tried to stop them.

"As learning as a player I grew from there, picking up bits and pieces around stoppages and the patterns they were running."

Bolded are the parts as to why I rate the swans midfield as the best in the league.

Jack has surpassed Stanton and Pendles as my favourite non-Geelong player.

He will feature as my avatar very shortly but want to give Thurlow some air time this week.

    My favourite current Swan

Better watch his back though with Mitchell coming through!

Been a good three weeks since the Freo capitulation! Really responded to the spray that Bolton gave the team after that one!

Sydney has delisted Tommy Walsh, Matthew Dick and Jordan Lockyer.

Walsh has decided to now head back to Ireland.

Not a surprise, has dominated the NEAFL and can't get a game and certainly comes off as a FIGJAM type who wouldn't like that. Will be interesting to see if there is interest or any decent offers.

I'd really like Melbourne to have a go at getting him. He seems to have bags of potential as a big-bodied mid in a few years time.

Matthew Bate plus a third rounder should get it done nah in all seriousness, I'm not sure what Melbourne could offer up as a suitable trade. @Wogitalia what realistically gets it done?

Hard to say, he certainly has talent but he hasn't had a chance to prove anything at AFL level. Realistically I'd say he is in that 2nd-3rd type range, with where Melbourne's at it's more likely to be their 3rd. I'd personally rather not trade him than get that though, is an obvious replacement for Goodes as that mid sized forward (I thought Goodes was just about our best in that game the other week which I've wiped from my memory...). I'd really be hoping he could push Sam Reid out of the side though if Tippett is fit to ruck (Reid was close to our worst, he must have had more missed easy tackles than possessions in the GF).

Melbourne would make sense as a club he should get games at straight away.
