Goddard is a fair distance above all others.

I think Melbourne were slightly ripped off here and Port did very well to get a second rounder for Pearce.

I think St Kilda's is far, yes Goddard is 28 or so now but he would be on huge money relative to anyone else there which was a primary factor for compensation.

The main thing I was pleased to see is that compensation isn't a given for a player who isn't in the best 22.

Looks about right, maybe a bit generous for Port, but otherwise it's fine.

Ports picks aren't far off end of first round - very generous. Bit of a backhander i suspect

    Melbourne bit ripped off
    TEX WALKER. that is all.

Agreed, looks about right. Actually happy to see Port given some generous compensation, losing Pearce and Chaplin were big blows after an already unsettling off-season. Pearce a previous rising star award winner with 150 games under his belt, probably in the top 2-3 ball users at Port, so a second rounder is more than fair for mine.

Generous compo for port, but I don't think we can begrudge them that after the death of McCarthy.

Melbourne a bit stiff with the Rivers compo, but I wasn't expecting much in the first place so it's only a mild irritation.

I'm just glad this is sorted now so we can see the clubs get down to business at the trade table.

I don't see how it is generous compensation for Port? Both players easily in top 10 paid and are probably top 10 players at the club. What they are aided by is the fact they finished so low on the ladder. Had they finished 1st they'd be getting picks in the mid 40's.

Wait, is it what they got paid at port, or their new club?

Goddard > Pearce, Chaplin > Young, Lynch. (could have had Lynch in the 2nd bracket)

As for Melbourne Moloney was probably nothing considered he didn't even get a gig for most of this season and Rivers' value was diminished by them picking up Byrnes.

I'd rather have Young then Pearce but can see why they got the compensation.

I was hopping end of 2nd round for lynch but understand why 3rd round instead.

The only reason why I think Port's is generous is because I dislike Pearce with a passion,

Pretty sure it's what the contract was signed at the new club. Word is Fremantle set up Pearce with a very generous offer, something in the range of 350-400k per season.

Both went for almost first round compensation, overs for both.

The fact that they finished so low is almost testament to how valuable their top 10 players are.

Basically they got compensation very close to their trade value - that 's too much for FA comp
    TEX WALKER. that is all.

    Haha exactly this.

In all seriousness the compensation for him was probably about right imo, but it is really hard to say out aloud after the years of relentless dissing Port supporters close to me have copped over him
