Sounds like a typical Essendon flog

Given the draft is a sham anyway, surprised more don't rebel against the system.

That said this guy sounds like a flog

What other option do they have to the current draft Crow-mo?

the draft is a system that is in all likelihood illegal, so I am not sure its the only default. A mechanism that deprives people, who haven't even entered the system, of their right to determine where they play? yuk.

a much better system would be to zone, and have clubs invest in the training and development of those zones. but that's not going to be popular with the rank n file, as it increases the perception that rich clubs will prosper. which isn't true, smart clubs would prosper.

won't happen, but the draft stinks as a fair mechanism to the people involved

Even though there are a lot more clubs in Melbourne then any other state, don't the majority of the "stars" come from Vic still? I guess for most "interstate" clubs they only have two per state meaning this should be about even (yet QLD is still pretty far behind and I'm not too sure what NSW is like).

Without looking at it, I don't think we'd be disadvantaged by a local zone

    Surprised he didn't nominate Hawthorn.

Nah but seriously.. Luke Power's dad told the club not to draft him. Luckily we did!

Even if his dad is a flog, I wouldn't want to miss out on Kavangh if he was at our pick. Would really add that last piece to the midfield in my opinion, just those injury worries are tad off putting.
