maric is a lot more physical and aggressive around the stoppages. throws his weight around, creates gaps for the mids to get 1st possession.

    can do same up forward.

he's a hard man who makes his presence felt i.e. anti-blake

not a bad player at all. soiid replacement #1 ruck
    TEX WALKER. that is all.

I'd back Maric in to compete well with all bar the top rucks in the comp (Sandi, Mumford, Cox & a few others). Where he gets exposed around the ground which lowers his standing.

Comparing him to Mark Blake is in no way fair or accurate.
GWS - I forgot them. It's anyone's guess how Brogan and Giles will go. I'll give you this one, even though GWS will pretty much be a bye next year.

Port - I believe Lobbe has gone past Maric.

Bulldogs - Minson's useless but he can win a lot of hitouts. I'll give you this one as well but it won't be long before Roughead and Cordy take over.

Geelong - I'm a big Dawson Simpson fan. I believe he's already a better player. Even if he's not, then West certainly is. That's ignoring the fact that Ottens looks to be playing another year.

Collingwood - IF Jolly doesn't bounce back then fair enough.

If I was a Tiger fan I'd hope that the club were very agressive in chasing any of Z.Clarke, Simpson, West, Bellchambers, Hampson and Gawn. If they got no interest from any of those players then fair enough, take the stopgap option in Maric.

If they do end up with Maric, they should try to land Hickey or Nicholls from the GC. Not that GC would have any interest in dealing with them after only one year, though.

@Wogitalia Crow mo outlined the reason's why I feel the Blake comparison is unfair. Blake is a ruckman who has slipped to fourth in line for the number one spot. Maric would be ahead of him in the hypothetical at Geelong.

@Dan You've named a few young rucks that will be better than Maric in time but Maric is still a better option short term at this stage. Richmond seem to be after a placeholder whilst their young rucks come up to scratch.

I agree though if I was any club in need of a ruck I'd be throwing cash at Bellchambers like no tomorrow.

Yeah I know he is all signed up, I still feel like he wasn't treated fairly this year. I really think at no stage in the year was he Essendon's worst performed of the three. He will be unequivocally be ahead of Hille by next year though.

Out of Clarke, Simpson, West, Hampson, Bellchambers and Gawn, in my opinion, Maric is currently only better than Gawn.

Like I said, all of those players might have turned Richmond down for all I know.

I also think they should have targeted McIntosh. He only just turned 27. Ignoring him because of his age doesn't send a great message to the rest of the playing group.

I'd take Connors for Maric in a heart beat if he was offered to the Crows.

Simpson, West and Hampson have played a couple of good games in their career but are yet to play as a number 1 ruckman for the club for a season to show how they can handle it. Maric has and has done alright, whilst he doesn't get too involved around the ground (has shown a bit up forward more recently) his tap ruck to advantage as well as his physical pressure has been very good which is why Adelaide want to hold onto him if we can talk him into staying.

Needs to work on his around the ground work, but was by far the best when it came to hitouts. In the end he was the loser of the whole 3 ruckman experiment. Ryder was moved to the ruck and Hille was considered to be a better target up forward than Bellchambers. When Hille retires I can see Ryder playing more forward and Bellchambers doing the majority of the ruck.

Adelaide like their guys to be straight laced, so I don't know if that has turned them off or it is Richmond that is reluctant to trade him.

But yeah I would take him if he was on offer.

To me that is a fair deal but the Crows are being precious with Maric at the moment trying to get Richmonds 1st round pick for him. Though they might come around in the next few days for a deal and are just getting a feel at the moment with clubs suggestions.

Chris Dawes staying at Coll despite lure of hundreds of thousands of $$ elsewhere (Melb). Big decision great result for Pies.
    This was just on twitter

    and this

Setanta would be good at Melbourne. Crashes packs, clears the decks for Jurrah & Watts. Fills important role
Melbourne should make a play for the big fella from the Blues would help their forwardline out alot IMO.

In for a trade like that. Just as long as we don't completely over bid.
